The Sins, The Unholy Trinity & Demonic Rank
There are Seven Deadly Sins; Pride (Lucifer - NPC), Gluttony (Beelzebub), Wrath (Amon), Envy (Leviathan), Lust (Asmodeus), Sloth (Belphegor) and Greed (Mammon). While there are a mix of different ranks within the Sins, they are all the heads and embodiment of said sin. There are ranks outside of the sins, and even those who outrank them within the eyes of Hell. For instance, the Unholy Trinity is the uppermost echelon of Hell; they are comprised of Lucifer, Beelzebub, and Belial. As in the instance of these two specific groups, the ranks within Hell are often intermingled with one another; othertimes, the ranks may seem skewed or chaotic, depending. There is, however, always a respect between the denizens of Hell. They are, after all, in the same proverbial boat - and there is the want to win the ongoing war. |
Summoning, Binding, and Contracts
There are ritualistic spells used by dark witches that can call forth demons from Hell. Of course, this must be done properly or it may cause trouble for the human at the demon's discretion. Furthermore, the more powerful the demon? The more talented the witch will need to be in their craft. Once the demon is summoned, they can be bound by the witch to do as that mortal wishes; again, should they ere in this action? The witch's fate is in the demon's hands. In most cases, demons aren't summoned to be bound; they are called on to create contracts. These are set lists of favors given in trade for the mortal's soul. Contracts may also be offered to those who have not summoned a demon, though these are also up to the demon's choosing. |
Ascension
Like all beings within creation, demons are able to find forgiveness for their sinful ways. However, where it takes most others more simplistic routes, demons have a harder time at finding forgiveness. It takes a lot of time, and many works; aside from this, there's always someone from the ranks in the way. Other demons will always hamper another of their kind seeking redemption; they don't want to lose their forces. Therefore, ascension and forgiveness are possible; but they're tricky and rather rough to obtain. Great willpower and fortitude are needed for this. |
